Classroom resources

Donate Life South Carolina and its many collaborative health and education partners throughout the State of South Carolina work tirelessly to educate all ages about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation. Together, we pursue the ultimate goal of saving and improving lives in South Carolina. Education and resource materials provided on this website are offered through an organ, eye and tissue donation education initiative created by the SC Health Advocates to support teachers and engage with student groups ranging from middle through high school. Materials found here can be used inside and outside the classroom and offer students instructive, fun and interactive ways to learn about donation. Awareness and education do not stop at the high school level – it continues on college campuses throughout South Carolina where students educate and promote organ and tissue donation through campaign challenges like the Donate Life Duel.

Organ Donation and Transplantation: How does it work?

This video, created by Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services covers the process of how someone becomes a donor, the process of matching organs/tissues to individuals on the waiting list for possible transplantation, and signing up to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor.
