Pinnacle Platinum Award Winner

Donate Life America presented its highest level national award to Donate Life South Carolina and the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles for their mutual commitment to increasing the awareness of organ, eye and tissue donation.

DLA presented the Pinnacle Platinum Award at its 2016 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada in October. Receiving the honored DMV Platinum Award were Col. Kevin Shwedo, Director of the SC DMV, and Tracy Armstrong, Director of Donate Life South Carolina, for their collaborative efforts in the “Bells for Life” campaign. The campaign kick-off began in 2015 and encompassed all DMV offices. In South Carolina, each time a customer says, “Yes” to registering to be a donor and/or gives a monetary contribution to Donate Life South Carolina, the customer is given the opportunity to ring a simple desk bell painted in Donate Life colors of blue and green. When the bell is rung, DMV staff take a moment to clap and recognize the new LIFE registrant in thanks for helping save lives through organ, eye and tissue donation.

Each year, Donate Life America (DLA), a national non-profit organization presents Pinnacle Awards to Donate Life State Teams and national partners with innovative programs that encourage people to say, “YES” to organ, eye and tissue donation.
