Karalina Corporation:
First Workplace Partner to Promote Organ and Tissue Donation in SC

Greenville, SC - APRIL 3, 2007 - Bob Johns, President of Karalina Corporation and owner of 15 Little Caesars Pizza restaurants in the Upstate, is placing Donor Designation Stations in his stores, offering the opportunity for pizza patrons to sign a donor card and make a promise to become organ and tissue donors. As a thank you, each person who signs a card has the opportunity to enter a drawing to win a free pizza every Friday during the month of April.

“It’s my way of giving back,” says Bob Johns. “In 2004, I received the gift of a new life.

After a lifelong battle with diabetes that destroyed my kidneys, a transplant saved my life. I just want to give people the chance to be someone’s hero and make a pledge to help others reclaim life.”

April is Donate Life Month, both nationally and in South Carolina. Currently, there are over 6000 people on dialysis in South Carolina, and over 550 South Carolinians waiting on a live-saving kidney transplant.

 “We are very thankful to Mr. Johns for providing his customers with the opportunity to sign up to become donors,” says Donate Life SC Executive Director, Melissa Blevins.  “We hope other SC business owners and corporations will follow his generous lead and commit to helping promote organ and tissue donation statewide.”
