Update on SC Donor Registry

DLSC is working in collaboration with Life Point, Incorporated and the State of South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles to erect through computer implementation the first South Carolina Organ and Tissue Donor Registry.

The purpose of this registry is to facilitate the recovery of anatomical gifts for transplantation and to collect the data to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives promoting organ and tissue donation. 

The effective trial launch date for this registry is scheduled for September 15, 2008.  We envision this system being fully engaged on or before December 31, 2008.
