DLSC’s  new CEO/Executive Director, Tracy Rachele

April is National Donate Life Month and what better time to introduce myself as the new CEO/Executive Director of Donate Life South Carolina (DLSC).  I am honored to be part of an agency whose very foundation and unmistakable level of commitment and focus have achieved such positive growth and community awareness in twelve short years.

Although a relative newcomer to South Carolina, I have lived here for nearly one year and felt from the first day that this was “home”.  Prior to moving to Greenville, I served for over twenty years in a directorship position with non-profit agencies serving the needs and improving the vocational lives of developmentally disabled individuals in Arizona.

I am excited to share my knowledge in marketing greater causes to community businesses through public outreach and collaborative efforts.  My passion for helping others in need is a positive fit for DLSC.

I have personal experience with the hope and anguish that being on a donor waiting list brings to recipients and their loved ones.  My late husband was diagnosed with a rare heart tumor at the age of twenty seven.  Subsequently, he passed away due to complications from his illness.  I will always remain grateful to the presence of hope that the donor waiting list gave to me and my children during this time of hardship.  Because I am a fervent supporter of organ and tissue donation, I have shared my story and support to countless individuals over the years.
