New Face
Gift of Life Trust Fund has a new name and a new logo.  The new name is "Donate Life SC" and the new logo incorporates South Carolina into the national logo of  Donate Life America.

This change comes as a result of the national organization that promotes organ and tissue donation, (formerly Coalition on Donation), unveiling a new logo at the Communications Summit in Boston, MA in June, 2006, Donate Life America.  
 
Other states are adopting the name and logo format to increase logo recognition and reduce confusion about the mission of our organizations across state lines.  On June 26, 2006, Gift of Life Trust Fund Board of Directors voted unanimously to change the name and logo to, "Donate Life South Carolina", to align ourselves with the national organization and other states that share the same mission.  

New Place
Another transition – effective May, 2006, the headquarters for Donate Life South Carolina moved to Greenville, SC.  Moving the office to a metropolitan area is a strategic decision signaling the next phase of organizational growth and development for the organization previously known as Gift of Life Trust Fund.  

Same purpose
The mission has not changed.  In the 10 years since its inception, this organization has grown from a brainstorm of Larry and Kitty McManus', to a kitchen-table-top effort run by volunteers, to a fully staffed legislative-endorsed, non-profit state organization with statewide impact and a governor appointed Board of Directors.  The mission was the same then as it is now – promote organ and tissue donation and assist transplant recipients in South Carolina.
